The bouquet offers a bold blend of luscious black cherry fruit with an earthy peppery core. It’s deliciously soft on the palate with rich ripe plummy fruit wrapped around velvety tannins leading into a long finish layered with a hint of coffee and spice.

Type of wine: Red Wine
Alcohol:
12.00%
Grape:
100% Tempranillo
D.O.:
Valencia
Winery:
Anecoop- La Viña

Tasting Notes:
Clean with a deep cherry colour. Ripe cherry and berry fruit aromas dominate the nose along with spicy notes. The palate is soft, rich and full with hints of dry fruits, chocolate and lovely soft tannins at the finish.

Additional Information

Is it authenticity you’re looking for? You’ll find it in this 100% Tempranillo, Spain’s quintessential native red wine grape, distinctively unlike any of the other red varietals so widely available from all over the world.

Winemaking in the northern part of Valencia region - also known by Spaniards as the Levante (where the sun rises) or País Valenciano - is dominated by ancient vineyard areas around Valencia, Spain's third largest city.

The wines are not as famous or expensive compared to their neighbors to the north (like Rioja or Priorat) but Levantine winemaking expertise goes back to pre-Roman times and the wines are some of the best value for your money in all of Europe.

The port city of Valencia was exporting local wines before some of Spain’s major cities were even founded! It continues to be Spain’s largest wine port to this day.

Oranges aren’t the only fruit Valencia is famous for. Vineyards extend across three distinct subzones yielding a wide variety of different wine styles.

Monastrell is the main red wine grape grown in Valencia and while only a small quantity of Tempranillo is grown in the region, vineyards are increasing as growers replant with Tempranillo which adapts well to varied growing conditions. In Valencia these range from the coastal plain with dry sandy soils reaching inland and higher still to the Alto Turia subzone at an altitude of 2034 feet where the climate is hot and dry. There is more clay in the soil here providing ideal conditions for vinegrowing.

Winemaking takes a traditional path, though the winery is nothing less than state-of-the-art. Straightforward vinification takes place in temperature controlled tanks which helps preserve the fruit’s natural flavors in the torrid Spanish climate.

The result is a lush and easydrinking red wine to enjoy with your next cookout or indoors with a pasta dinner.
